Surrounded by the Yellow River on three sides of the east, west and north, the Great Wall leads to the south. The ancient Ordos is vast in size and includes the entire territory of today’s Ordos, the back cover of the Bayannaoir League and parts of Ningxia and northern Shaanxi. This article refers to the historic Erdos region.
