故宫与大运河堪称我国古代史上最能体现劳动人民智慧同时也是浸透着无数平民百姓血汗的伟大工程。两者的营建都是以保障皇家生活需要、体现皇权等级秩序、维护封建王朝政权的稳定为根本出发点,并且不计成本,不惜代价:京杭大运河为故宫营建提供了便捷的运输途径,保障了皇室生活及皇权的稳定;运河史研究在运河交通、运河经济、运河文献等方面与故宫学研究存在相同或相通之处,两者具有相互依赖、相互补充、相互促进的关系。
The Forbidden City and the Grand Canal are the great projects in our country that can best embody the wisdom of the working people in the ancient history.
