In this study,to enhance the performance of PVDF UF membrane,silver-exchanged NaY zeolite particles were synthesized and AgNaY/PVDF hybrid membranes were prepared using the phase inversion method.The hybrid PVDF membrane exhibited favorable antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (E.cohi).The hydrophilicity of AgNaY hybrid membrane was improved with a low contact angle of 82.3±0.7°.Compared with original PVDF membrane,the permeate flux,antifouling performance and mechanical properties of AgNaY hybrid membrane was improved with a steady bovine serum albumin (BSA) retention above 92%.Antibacterial activity of the membranes against E.coli was measured using the halo zone test [1].The characterization of AgNaY/PVDF hybrid membranes was investigated by scanning electron microscope,tensile stress tests,contact angle tests,pure water flux,and permeation flux.
