The purpose of present study was to examine the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral family therapy on treating psychosomatic disorders, masculoskelt type. For do this, it was applied a single ¨C subject design. 3 patients (2 male, 1 female) referred to a private psychotherapy clinic and suffered from psychosomatic disorder, masculoskelt one, (low back pain and neck pain) were selected as sample group. Assessing instruments included: examine by a specialist physician, x-ray, and clinical interview base on DSM IV-TR criteria, MMPI and SCL-90-R tests. The results indicated the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral family therapy. Some probably reasons for treating of current patients include: solving conflicts and interpersonal problems by means of training them certain skills such as problem solving skills, developing relationship with others, effective coping, and self-assertive. It is suggested in further researches effectiveness of other therapy techniques including medicine therapy, behavioral therapy and individual ¨C group cognitive therapy examine and compare.
