Reflection on Development of Energy Services Industry in China

  Energy service is an effective way to promote energy conservation by market mechanisms,including energy saving services,energy procurement,supply of many varieties of energy,supply of renewable energy technologies,energy-related consulting services,risk management,etc.China is a major energy consumer but energy is in short supply,the efficiency of energy use is low,and businesses are not sufficiently driven to spend on energy saving.China's energy service industry is still in its infancy so its contribution to energy saving and emission reduction is yet to be increased.Developed countries began early in developing the energy service sector and their energy service market is maturing.Under the new situation,China needs combine energy services mature experience of developed countries,and take following measures to accelerate China's energy services rapid and healthy development,such as the long-term aspects of policy planning,energy-saving technology,finance,public sector reductions,and personnel training and so on.In addition,the Chinese government should provide guidance and make plans for the development of the energy service industry and make continued efforts to increase the size of the market so that the industry will achieve rapid and healthy growth.China should work harder on key energy saving technologies to develop leading-edge core technologies,and energy service professionals should be cultivated and energy managers should be certified.
