  Thermoelectric materials are technically important for energy harvesting and conversion technology.Good thermoelectric materials must have high Seebeck coefficient,good electrical conductivity and low thermal conductivity.Incorporating nanoparticles into a thermoelectric compound matrix can effectively reduce thermal conductivity to a greater degree than electrical conductivity for ZT enhancement.Our work demonstrated that mixing SiC nanoparticles into the BiSbTe and Ag-Pb-Sb-Te(abbreviated as LAST)compound matric is effective for enhancing both of their thermoelectric and mechanical properties.
