Plant cortical microtubules constitute an important inner skeleton in growing plant cells to maintain the shape of cells.Plant cell shape is largely controlled by organized depositions of cellulose microfibrils;a process that is guided by the microtubules. To do this, the microtubules are believed to be anchored to the plasma membrane at the inside of the cell to maintain stable confirmations. However, how this is mediated, and the components involved in this process, are largely unknown.
