Mineral resources of rare earths all over the globe South Afirica and Russia occupy 80-90% of total production.The PGMs (Platinum group metals) namely,platinum,osmium,ruthenium,palladium,iridium and rhodium are precious metals due to their unique properties like chemically resistant,stable at high temperatures,stable electrical properties catalysts,electrical and electronic equipment,display glass manufacturing equipment,super alloys and used in jewelry etc.For reaching to world demand of platinum,the researchers proposing different technologies for above said precious metals recovery and separation without waste generation.In the present study we are proposing extraction chromatography technique for separation of platinum from its associated elements.
