Falling liquid film flow is a common transport phenomenon occurred in chemical engineering field [1-3].Flow behavior has great influence on mass transfer performance. In this paper, mass transfer and flow behavior of falling liquid film flow on plate with rectangular holes are investigated both numerically and experimentally.Mass transfer experiments report that by opening rectangle-shaped narrow holes on plate, mass transfer efficiency can be enhanced.Compared to ordinary plate without holes, the vapor-liquid mass transfer rate on holed plate can be increased by 10~20%.Computational Fluid Dynamics model (CFD) based on Volume of Fluid (VOF) [4] method is developed to analyze the detailed flow and mass transfer behavior. In this model,Marangoni effect induced by concentration gradient is considered. The new model was demonstrated to give more satisfactory results than the previous one.
