A Gram-stain-negative,orange-pigmented,aerobic bacterial strain, designated KA37T,was isolated from mangrove sediment,Fujian Province of China.Growth was observed at temperatures from 4 to 37 ℃,at salinities from 0 to 2.5%and at pH from 5 to 10.Mg2+ ions are required for growth.Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing revealed that the isolate was a member of the genus Erythrobacter, which belongs to the family Erythrobacteraceae.
