  Inundation has much impact on quantity of water resources as well as regional climate.This study aims at developing in-land water cycle model considering inundation,especially evapotranspiration loss, and estimating river discharge and spatio-temporal changes of inundation area.This study presents basically following three ways of coupling river routing model to land surface model SiBUC (Simple Biosphere Model including Urban Canopy).(1)Calculating river routing using kinematic wave equation.(2)One-way coupling from SiBUCto CaMa-Flood (Catchment-based Macro-scale Floodplain model).(3)Two-way coupling between SiBUC and CaMa-Flood.These three presented ways are applied to White Nile river basin for mainly estimating water budget and spatio-temporal changes of inundation area in Sudd wetlands area.In the one-way coupling, evapotranspiration is calculated by the original landuse condition.So, the extension of flooded area is not considered in the energy and water balance analysis, and Evapotranspiration never exceeds precipitation.On the other hand, the extension and shrinkage of flooded area is considered in the two-way coupling.Inclusion of the inundation effect to land surface model greatly increased the evapotranspiration loss in the Sudd wetlands area.As a result,this region can be evaluated as 'water loss' zone.This fundamental characteristics greatly improved the accuracy of river discharge in the downstream.
