In our experience on more than 1,600 HPBC (hereditary predisposition to breast cancer) families, 210 were linked to BRCA1 deleterious germ-line mutations, 145 to BRCA2, 15 to other rare known genes with breast cancer risk (PTEN, TP53, STK11...).More than 1,300 families were BRCA negative, hinted new genes to find.Present data are highly suggestive but do not unequivocally prove the co-segregation of germ-line CDH1 mutations with inherited invasive lobular breast cancer (ILBC).
