Human beings have composed the culture through evolution to adapt wild nature.Western has developed the culture that accept wheat as the staple food, however Asian mostly has made the cultures that consider rice as the staple food symbolically.Because the wheat culture of the West has considered commerce to promote a infinite competition as important, it adopted the nature-view of subject-object dichotomy to maintain the subordination of inferior nature by superior mankind, and thus produced an industrial civilization.Industrial society has provided mankind with the material abundance, but it is supposed that it should cause an ecological crisis because of the extreme exploitation over nature.Thus we must open up a green civilization with the nature-friendly relations in order to overcome the crisis.From this perspective, views of world and value are considered as important position for modern man.By the way, the rice culture of Asia that has a trait of family resemblance in the basis of traditional thoughts embodies the organic view of nature based upon an integrative interdependence between man and nature, and takes much more of social virtues containing autonomy, equality, care.Therefore it will be evaluated that Asian culture should contribute to the construction of ecological society.
