The molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are widely used in solid phase extraction, HPLC stationary phase, sensors due to their high selectivity, high specificity as well as chemical and physical stablity.Hydrogen bonding interaction is commonly used to gain high selective MIPs.Theres been many researches about the imprinting of templates which can form strong hydrogen bonds with the functional monomer, while the imprinting of templates with rare hydrogen bonding sites is still a challenge. In our study, 4-Nitrotoluene (4-NT) molecularly imprinted polymers were prepared by sol-gel method.Phenyl trimethoxysilane was used to facilitate hydrophobic interaction and the amount of 4-NT was increased to create more complementary cavities. The static adsorption experiments showed that the imprinting factor (IF) of the resulting MIPs was 1.513, indicating the high specificity of prepared MIPs,.
