Objective: Intratympanic gentamicin (ITG) injection can bc used to treat vertigo cuased by Menieres disease (MD).The aim of this study was to investigate the role of A1555G polymorphism in vertigo control of MD patients following ITG treatment.Methodology: Patients with disabling MD treated with ITG at our institute (2000-2012) were retrospectively reviewed.Blood sample was analyzed for the presence of 1555 A-to-G substitution.Demographics and results were documented at baseline and 18 to 24 months time points after injection.We compare the results of genetic analysis for patients with and without improvement of vertigo and degree of hearing impairment.
