Enzyme activities of mushroom tyrosinases were monitored by dopachrome formation, which was oxidized from levodopa (L-DOPA) by the catalyzation of mushroom tyrosinase in human body.In this study, the whitening effects of coenzyme Q10,ascorbic acid, collagen and their compounds were investigated by inhibiting the enzyme activities of L-DOPA/mushroom tyrosinase/PBS solutions mushroom tyrosinases—Ultraviolet spectroscopy analysis was used to evaluate the dopachrome concentrations formed in mixed L-DOPA/mushroom tyrosinase/PBS solutions alone or together with the inhibitor specimens. The inhibition efficiency of collagen solution specimens on mushroom tyrosinase activity of L-DOPA/mushroom tyrosinase/PBS solutions remained relatively unchanged at zero.In contrast, the inhibition efficiency of Q10 and/or Vc solution specimens on mushroom tyrosinase activity of L-DOPA/mushroom tyrosinase/PBS solutions improved significantly from 0 to 64.1% and 52.5%,respectively,as the Q10 and/or Vc concentrations increase from 0 to 0.8 g/1.After mixing Vc in Q10 soltuion,a synergetic inhibition efficiency on mushroom tyrosinase activity of L-DOPA/mushroom tyrosinase/PBS solutions was found in the 0.8 g/l Q10/Vc solution specimen with a weight ratio of Q10 to Vc at 4.In which, the inhibition efficiency of Q10/Vc solution specimens with a fixed Q10/Vc concentration at 0.8 g/1 improved to 71.3% as their weight ratios of Q10 to Vc reached 4.
