At present,Chinese petrochemical enterprises have achieved remarkable results on insulation for energy,especially the heat preservation and energy-saving of heating networks.Many enterprises have used the new thermal insulation material,paid attention to the quality of construction,and strengthened the management of heat insulation technique.But considering the current situation of the level and management of Chinese chemical industry’s heat insulation technique,there are still large gaps with developed country in cold insulation technology of thermal insulation technique.The current cold insulation structure does not work well for the reasons of disrepair,material invalidation,poor construction and so on.To improve the cold insulation of the equipments and pipes can reduce the cold loss and reduce the operation and energy consumption which shall be very beneficial for energy saving and cost efficiency.In this paper,site tests of current equipments and pipes have been done,and the main problems of the equipments’ and pipes’ cold insulation have been analyzed;calculating the thickness of Low temperature elastomer used in the equipments and pipes with the methods of optimal design;comparing the properties of four kinds of cold insulation materials(polyurethane foam of hard quality,polyethylene foams,foam glass and low temperature elastomer),and then doing the site simulating test.For testing and verifing the actual application effect of Low temperature elastomer,we remoulded parts of the pipelines of ethylene cracker workshop in Daqing Petrochemical Company,and tested the insulation effect of the equipments and pipes.Effect evaluation is made according to the comparison of cold loss between the before and after remoulding after dealing with the test data.Through comparing and analysis,the insulation effect and economical efficiency of cold insulation of equipments and pipes using low temperature elastomer material is better than the former cold insulation structure.It can solve the problems of large cold loss and inconvenience of construction and maintenance very well,and is worth to popularize.
