The purpose of this study was to investigate Chinese students’ attitudes toward international students, and to design a scale to measure these attitudes. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were utilized; face to face individual interviews and the newly constructed questionnaire were the tools employed. Results of data analysis reported satisfactory psychometric characteristics of the final 35 items questionnaire; with a reliability value of (0,956 Cronbach alpha), and a noticeable content and construct validity;7 factors were extracted with a total variance contribution rate of 70.41%. Findings revealed positive attitudes of Chinese students toward international students. Opinions and feelings regarding international students were positively loaded among the majority of Chinese students, and eagerness was noticed among them to have more international classmates. It was suggested that more efforts from teachers and institutions to create intergroup interaction opportunities for both groups would have better outcomes in promoting the success of the experience for both Chinese and international students.
