Chinas emergence as a global power increased its needs inboth economic and political cooperation in the international,globalized system.Latin American stock in raw materialsand arable land in addition to its proximity to the United States increased its significance for China. Chile and Mexico,two of the most important countries of Latin America,have created strong ties with China and inten to promote even closer relations with it.For both Chile and Mexico,economic ties are of greater importance,leaving behind further political developments.The proximity to the United States promoted Latin America in a more significantregion of interest for China.Chile and Mexico,two of Chinas most important trading partners,can also be promoted in important allies boosting Chinas soft power and promoting South-South cooperation.Therefore China should boost relations with Chile and Mexico in both sectors with the same firm in order to achieve the maximum of the potential advantages.Finally,the implications in the Chinese bilateral cooperation with both Chile and Mexico appear to be positive and bright,ensuring a "win-win situation" for all of them.
