英国新左派以唯物史观为理论视域,以实现社会主义为目的诉求,从不同方法和视角对社会主义的主体建设、策略模式和实现路径等问题,进行了较为集中的探讨,形成了一种独具特色的英国社会主义思想文化,呈现出一定的总体趋势和特征:一是从个体的社会主义走向集体的社会主义;二是从道德的社会主义走向科学的社会主义;三是从民族的社会主义走向国际的社会主义。他们的社会主义思想对于中国的社会主义理论与实践具有一定的参考价值和借鉴意义,对理解马克思主义哲学的当代发展有积极的意义。
