Sodium fluoride (NaF) and sodium monofluorophosphate (NaMFP) are the most common fluorine-containing dentifrices on the market today. It was previously agreed that the anti-caries efficacy of fluorine depends on the concentration of F ˉ in the fluid environment where the tooth is located, but the clinical anti-caries effect is quite different from the F ˉ concentration of both. In this study, we quantitatively analyzed the changes of Fˉ and MFPˉ concentrations in saliva, whole plaque and plaque fluid after gargling with NaF and NaMFP, revealing their different anti-cariogenic properties. Specimens were taken from 12 volunteers. Choose a molars or premolar plaque for each quadrant. 48h before not brushing teeth, fasting night, the next morning to collect subgingival plaque and saliva specimens as baseline water
