The CYC-4A Rock Ultrasonic Detector developed by the Research Team of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geological Technology of the Department of Geology and Mineral Resources passed the ministerial appraisal in November 1983. The instrument’s technical performance and supporting BPFT series ultrasonic transducers have reached the domestic advanced level. It has been put into use for mass production. The instrument is mainly used to test the longitudinal and transverse wave sound velocity of rock specimens.
