Foreword JEFC Research is one of the ten education research items of the eighth-five- year plan in Xinjiang U. A. R. The research mainly focuses on the new syllabus, JEFC itself, the new methodology, teacher training and problems and solutions of JEFC in Xinjiang. The research has been finished with the hard work of the researchers and the help of some experts and VSO teachers. Many thanks to these kind people. The following is a report of the research into the main problems and solutions of JEFC teaching in Xinjiang.
