今年2月7日至9日,全国科普工作会议在京召开。这是共和国历史上第一次由党和政府召开的全国科普工作会议。各省、审、自治区的科委、科协、宣传部负责人,国务院各部委有关司局的负责人等250余人出席会议。国家主席江泽民、国务院总理李鹏等国家领导人接见了会议代表。会议从实施科教兴国战略、实现两个根本性转变和加强社会主义精神文明建设的大局出发,研究了新形势下做好科普工作的思路。以下摘录会议几个报告的部分内容,以飨读者。
From February 7 to February 9 this year, a national popular science conference was held in Beijing. This is the first time in the history of the Republic that the party and government held a national science conference. More than 250 people including science and technology commissions, science and technology associations of Ministry of Science and Technology, Propaganda Department of various provinces, autonomous regions, and persons in charge of relevant divisions of ministries and commissions of the State Council attended the meeting. State leaders Jiang Zemin and Premier Li Peng attended the meeting. Starting from the overall situation of implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education, realizing the two fundamental changes and strengthening the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, the conference studied the train of thoughts for popularizing popular science under the new situation.
