A Brief History of Chinese Philosophy (English Edition) is a Feng Youlan’s acronym based on two volumes of this book, The History of Chinese Philosophy. In his understanding of the history of Chinese philosophy (source language), the choice of historical materials, and the subsequent conversion of language into a brief history of Chinese philosophy (target language), Feng Youlan, who is both an author and a translator, has formed his own interpretation of translation The understanding that “a translation, after all, is just an explanation ”. Feng Youlan’s translating view coincides with the western hermeneutic translation view. It is of great significance to discuss Feng Youlan’s philosophical translation perspective from the perspective of translation in western hermeneutics and to analyze the reasons for the formation of translation strategies and translation perspectives.
