In our past work, we found that electroacupuncture analgesia is closely related to changes in brain free ammonia content. Later it was confirmed that the change of brain ammonia during electroacupuncture analgesia was regulated by glutamate. The latter is the highest content of amino acids in the mammalian brain and is converted to gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) after decarboxylation. This article uses several drugs to further explore the relationship between electroacupuncture and morphine analgesia and intracerebral GABA branches.
