Toxoplasma gondii can be divided into virulent and non-virulent strains. Toxoplasma gondii surface antigen SAG1 is known to be involved in virulence. The gene encoding SAG1 is a single copy gene and does not contain introns. In this paper, the 5 ’untranslated region (UTR) upstream of SAG1 was analyzed to determine if the strain-specific differences in each region of Toxoplasma gondii affected the expression of SAG1. Six Toxoplasma gondii were used in this study. Toxicity Group A
