In the Soviet Union boiler manufacturing industry, small-capacity boilers occupy an important position. Such boilers produce low-pressure saturated steam for the industrial and heating of small-scale enterprises in all fields of the national economy. They are widely used in the fields of agricultural machinery manufacturing, construction, food processing, meat milk processing and residential services . Before 1968, the small-capacity boilers in the Soviet Union were mainly vertical tubular fire-tube boilers of 0.8 t / h. These types of boilers burn only high calorific value stone coal. For other types of fuels, including liquid and gaseous fuels, other furnaces must be installed.
