泥石流运动的计算,主要是确定表面流速和断面平均流速,流速的大小既取决于河床的形态特征,也决定于径流的物理力学性质,而这些性质首先由含水量和(d(?)P>1mm)砂石含量所决定,同时也考虑其平均粒径及细颗粒(d(?)p<1mm).根据现场观测资料,和试验研究成果证明把泥石流固体成分分成两部分是合理的,即粒径大于和小于1mm.因此在确定泥石流的主要物理力学特性时应当考虑三种型式组成—水、粒径小于1和大于1的颗粒,而不是像不久前所做的两种组成(水和固体物质).
