7月14日，欧盟新一届主席若泽·曼努埃尔·巴罗佐抵京访问，国家主席胡锦涛、国务院总理温家宝分别与他进行会谈，就进一步发展中欧关系等问题交换了意见。16日上午，巴罗佐前往上海参观访问，并在中欧国际工商学院发表演讲，《中国报道》过与中欧国际工商学院和欧盟驻华代表团的多方沟通协商，特此独家刊发此次演讲全文。
On July 14, the new EU President José Manuel Barroso arrived in Beijing for the visit. President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council respectively held talks with him and exchanged views on further developing China-EU relations and other issues. On the morning of the 16th, Barroso headed to Shanghai for a visit and gave a speech at China Europe International Business School.
