This paper focuses on the “victory of time” (1901), the first ballet dance script by the Austrian writer Hugo von Huffmanstal, attempting to show the writer’s poetic reflection on the performing arts of dance in the early stage through specific text analysis and Aesthetic Study on Body Expressions. The work marks the beginning of an important turning point in Huffmansthal’s writing, during which he critically liquidated the writing culture of the West in modern times. This work fully embodies this turning point. On the one hand, it is rooted in the tradition of western education and culture with obvious characteristics of intertextuality and inter-media. On the other hand, it expresses the desire to get rid of the culture dominated by text-based media System demands. In the historical context of major media revolutions around 1900, the play can also be seen as a response to the challenge of literature in the new electronic media.
