为绿化太原西山,几年来我圃担负着培育油松苗的任务。据近几年的观察及造林单位的反映,由于造林成活率不高,苗木需要带土台长途运输,人力、物力花费很大,所以,造林单位不太欢迎油松苗造林。从苗圃方面来说,苗木出圃时带走大量活土,造成土壤瘠薄,严重地影响了圃地再生产。1966年春天我们进行了落叶松育苗试验。落叶松造林成活容易,苗木出圃也不需要带土台,生长又快。但我圃能否培育落叶松苗是个问题。据有关资料记载,落叶松垂直分布在海拔1,600—2,800米高山地区,水平分布也只能在山西北部地区,太原地区是没有先例的。而我圃海拔只有789米,土壤 pH 值为
