麦冬喜温暖而潮湿的环境，多种植在海拔460～520m的涪江两岸的Ⅰ、Ⅱ级阶地上。最适土壤为棕潮沙泥。该土壤母质复杂，矿质养分丰富，有机质含量适宜，中性，含钙，微生物活跃。物理性状好，土层深厚，地上水位高，结构良好，上松下紧，透气、透水、回润好。土壤水、气、热、肥协调，能满足麦冬生长发育之需，种植的麦冬质量好，产量高。
Ophiopogon prefers a warm and humid environment, and it is planted on Grade I and II terraces on the banks of the Minjiang River with elevations of 460 to 520m. The optimum soil is brown tide mud. The soil parent material is complex, mineral nutrients are abundant, organic matter content is suitable, neutral, calcium-containing, and microorganisms are active. The physical properties are good, the soil is deep, the ground water level is high, and the structure is good. The pines are tight, and they are breathable, water permeable, and have good retanning. The coordination of soil water, gas, heat and fertilizer can meet the needs of the growth and development of Ophiopogon japonicus. The cultivated Ophiopogon has good quality and high yield.
