Explore different specializations (skating and track and field) with advanced skill levels. Dynamic changes in various energy substances and hormone levels as athletes perform stepped load growth on a bicycle dynamometer until failure. Venous blood levels of insulin and growth hormone, concentrations of fatty acids, glycerol and glucose, as well as lactate concentrations, and urine catecholamine concentrations were determined at relatively quiet hours, exhausted hours of operation, and minutes 3 and 10 of recovery. The results show that speed skaters and track and field athletes have the capacity to perform high-load work, which has a great relationship with the efficient use of energy substances and oxygen. The correlation between hormones and metabolite concentrations varies among athletes, confirming that different athletes with the same skill level and at the same stage of the annual training cycle have different hormonal metabolic responses to stress.
