Objective To understand the frequency and cognitive evaluation methods of freshmen’s life events in ethnic minority areas and to explore the relationship between life events and happiness. Methods 180 students were examined using the ASLEC and OHI questionnaires. Results The interpersonal relationships, learning stress, loss, punishment, health adaptation and other life event factors were negatively correlated with subjective well-being, reaching significant levels. Conclusions The frequency of occurrence of life events affects college students’ subjective well-being. The psychological assistance program can provide group students with interactive training so that students with maladaptation and social disabilities can quickly adapt to the group environment, enhance their subjective well-being and adapt to school life as early as possible.
