The research and testing described in this report resulted in a very reliable pyrophoric tube and a full set of specifications for its production needs. Since the MK-1 pyrotechnic tube was manufactured according to strict Navy specifications, the pyrotechnic tube was listed as the first type of pyrotechnic tube to be a non-exclusive naval. Appendix D gives a brief description of the MK-1 fire tube test specified in MIL-S-17923A. The development of the MK-1 pyrophoric tube improved rockets and contributed to the development of the Navy’s rocket. It improved the early pyrotechnic performance of World War II and is helping NOTS and other government agencies and contractors develop new rocket jobs. The development of pyrophoric output measurement methods has greatly contributed to the selection of the proper output for application to special igniters. Fire tube metal shell increases its reliability and life expectancy, and make it resistant to rough operation of the ability to ensure safe use. The mass production of pyrotechnic tubes has made it possible for engineers to achieve high quality at reasonable prices, independent of any contractor. The contract production of the MK-1 pyrophoric tube began in the spring of 1953. None of the 12,000,000 pyrophoric tubes produced were rejected for quality reasons.
