《访古纪游图册》是清代金石考古家黄易重要的山水作品之一,具有较高历史、艺术价值。依据黄易题跋中屡屡提及的“辛卯”纪年,一般认为此册作于“乾隆辛卯腊月”即1771年12月。但其艺术风格与黄易同时期即早期山水作品差异很大,却几乎与得碑访碑图等晚期作品无异。笔者在徐邦达、刘九庵等故宫前辈鉴定意见基础之上,分析考证认为“辛卯”系“乙卯”之误改,是黄易为防范官场政敌作祟保全自身而刻意为之。因此,《访古纪游图册》应为写绘于乾隆六十年至嘉庆元年(1795-1796年)间的黄易晚年之作,从而在时间上弥补了黄氏《得碑十二图册》(1793-1794年)与《嵩洛访碑图册》(1796年)、《岱麓访碑图册》(1797年)之间缺失的关键一环,使四者连缀成为一个有机整体,对于黄易晚年金石访碑研究意义重大。

Therefore, the “Visit to Ancient Tour Albums” should be written in Qianlong sixty years to the first year of Jiaqing (1795 - 1796) Huang Yi late years of work, which in time to make up for the " (1793-1994) and the missing links between Songliao’s Visiting Atlas (1796) and The Book of Dawn’s Visitors (1797), making the four of them connected as an organic whole , For Huang Yi late stone golden stone monument research significance.
