20世纪70年代末以来,在党领导的社会主义建设与改革进程中,共青团的改革也在不断推进。进入中华民族伟大复兴时代,党对共青团的改革提出了新的要求。2015年1月《中共中央关于加强和改进党的群团工作的意见》(以下简称《意见》)和2015年7月,习近平总书记在党的群团工作会议上的重要讲话,更从巩固党的阶级基础、群众基础的战略高度,从党和国家事业长远发展的全局高度,为共青团指明了新形势下改革的方向。2017年1月举行的共青团十七届六中全会,把2017年作为共青团改革的攻坚年。推进共青团改革的深化,已经成为全团上下的共识和共同的努力。

The Sixth Plenary Session of the 17th Central Committee of Communist Youth League held in January 2017 has made 2017 a crucial year for the reform of the Communist Youth League.
