On January 1, 2006, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Indian President Abdul Kalam exchanged congratulatory messages and warmly congratulated on the official start of the “China-India Friendship Year.” On January 4, 2006, Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement on the export of Russian-Ukrainian natural gas prices and Russian natural gas transit Ukrainian territory costs, and signed relevant contracts.
