四月下旬的一天,周揚同志邀了来京演出的杭州市越剧团和浙江紹剧团在中国戏剧家协会見面。下午四点鐘,两个剧团的同志們演完了日場,来到了中国剧协。周揚同志像在家里談心似的和大家随便地談了起来。他先向浙江省委宣传部长陈冰同志、浙江省文化局长丁九同志、杭州市文化局副局长唐向青同志和中国剧协副秘書长伊兵同志詢問了两个剧团在北京的演出情况,他特别关心群众的反映。同志們告訴周揚同志,許多观众写信給剧团,对他們演出反映当前斗爭生活的小戏表示欢迎和感謝,周揚同志笑着点了点头,又問他們是否到工厂学校去演过,他說这些小戏如果到工厂学校去演出,效果会更大。
