在新世纪之交,“声音艺术”俨然成了准艺种,其相关展览经年不断,研究论述逐年增加,中心系所陆续成立,与此同时,“声音艺术”的定义却奇怪地悬置着,持续摆荡于过度广义一—所有非传统音乐的声音创作都是声音艺术,与过度狭义——只有声音装置是声音艺术这两者之间。前者等于悬置定义,后者却有排挤当代艺术制式规格以外种种“声音创作”的嫌疑。
