平顶山是1955年新建的矿区城市,1960年以后,发现部分地区的房屋逐年裂缝破坏,尤其是经69年大旱期,房屋成群裂缝,破坏严重,即使翻修或重建,仍然破坏。在铁路、公路工程中也曾因此造成塌方等危害。但一直找不出正确答案,遵照周总理批示,解决我国建设和国外援建工程所遇到的膨胀土地基基础设计问题,开展全国性的研究工作,我所在国家建委建研院组织下,几年来,通过大量的调查勘察,工程物理和化学成份的性能试验,野外载荷浸水、干缩试验,以及变形、地温、土层含水量的测试工作,对我地区膨胀土性能,变形机理,产生地基变形的场地条件和外界因素,建筑物破坏机理及容许变形幅度、地基变形计算以及防治措施作了研究和分析,获得了有效的成果。
