在第六届四川电视节“金熊猫”评选及颁奖典礼上,由湖北电视台编导张以庆执导拍摄的纪录片《英与白》一举夺得“人文及社会”类的最佳长纪录片、最佳导演、最佳创意、最佳音效等四项大奖,成为这届“金熊猫”的最大赢家,此前该片曾入选2000年上海国际电视节、法国FIPA国际电视节。评委们一致认为《英与白》“以独特的视角切入大熊猫的生活,带出了普通人性的美,并用心去观察生活,将一个平常的事物叙述得有声有色,其自然真实性无可替代”；他们同时这样评价：“这是一部人文内涵丰富的影片。在变得越来越现代化的世界里,人类的情感元素都顽强地沿袭着。这一发现,使影片具有绵长的冲击力”。美国评委、芝加哥风城国际纪录片节主席玛莎·福斯特说：“它的不同之处重要的一点就是影片中的人格化,不仅是驯养员的人格魅力,就连大熊猫也有它的性格。我喜欢这部影片,因为它深入了驯养员的内心。”
