Experiment: the temptation of cotton candy In 1972, in a kindergarten in the United States, psychology professor Walter Michelle did an experiment to test the willpower of children. The researchers recruited 4-year-olds who were left alone in a small room with only one table and a chair, where the tray was filled with marshmallows that children would love to eat. Researchers told them they had to leave for a while, and if they wanted to eat marshmallows during this period, they could press the bells on the table and the researchers would return immediately. But if you can wait until the researchers come back to eat, you can get a more cotton candy as a reward.
