张爱萍上将(1910-2003)是卓越的革命家、军事家。在“文化大革命”中,他惨遭迫害,被批斗、囚禁达6年之久,并使左腿致残。但他刚直不阿,正气凛然,与林彪、江青反革命集团进行了坚决的斗争。1975年3月,张爱萍出来重新工作,担任国防科委主任。他抱病忍残,拄着拐杖,背着氧气袋,奉命整顿“文革”重灾区——第七机械工业部的厂所科室。
Admiral Zhang Aiping (1910-2003) is a brilliant revolutionary and military strategist. During the Cultural Revolution, he was brutally persecuted, condemned, imprisoned for six years and mutilated his left leg. However, he was upright and ruthless. He held a resolute struggle against Lin Biao and Jiang Qing counter-revolutionary groups. In March 1975, Zhang Aiping came out to work again as the director of the National Defense Science and Technology Commission. He was ill and disabled, crutches, carrying oxygen bags, was ordered to rectify the “Cultural Revolution” hardest hit - Seventh Machinery Industry Department of the factory section.
