如果要问谁是画史上最具传奇色彩的风流浪子,那当属唐寅无疑。唐寅(1470~1523年),初字伯虎,后更字子畏,号六如居士、挑花庵主、鲁国唐生、桃禅仙史等,江苏吴县吴趋里(今苏州)人。少有俊才、博雅多识,自称江南第一风流才子。唐伯虎玩世不恭而又才气横溢,在诗文上声名显赫,展露出特异的个性。他蔑视圣贤、关注民生,作为江南纵情任性的代表人物,与祝枝山、文徵明和徐桢卿并称“吴门四才子”在绘画上,尤长山水与人物,作品运用形象的笔墨业表现独立人格的精神追求,流注着一种激愤且狂放不羁的思想。与沈周、文徵明、仇英并称为明四家,对明中期以后的绘画产生了深远的影响。唐寅独特艺术风格的产生,与他的卖画生涯有着密切的内在联系。
