In uranium exploration, the measurement of gas radon ~ (222) in the soil can indirectly indicate the existence of the concealed ore body. The interest in such exploration methods has led to the development of various methods of measuring radon directly or indirectly in the soil. To determine the relative merits of these new radon measurement methods, Bendix Field Engineering tested a variety of radon measurement methods in uranium producing areas in the Red Desert region of southern central Wyoming.
