高原城市“月城西昌”,位于四川省西南部,海拔1510米。蜿蜒秀丽的安宁河从她的旁边淌过,明镜般的邛海和郁郁葱葱的泸山镶嵌在她的东南,西昌卫星发射中心巍然矗立在她的东北。这里气候四季如春,空气透明度高,晴空夜月分外皎沽。月亮洁如玉盘,亮若明镜,映入邛海,水天二月齐明。故有“月城”美誉。古人曾用“月出邛池水,空明激九霄”来描绘月城西昌明朗的月夜景色。特别是邛海,月夜格外明媚,有联赞曰:“松涛声海涛声声声相应;天上月水中月月月齐明。”
