当前,美军正大力研制战斗工程与架桥设备。一般说来,该项研制工作投资较低。桥梁的发展要此通过桥梁的主要武器的发展落后约10—20年。对新型桥要求架桥、通过、拆桥时间短;要用机械式竖桥代替人力竖桥;要在后方装备好后再架设,以便减少暴露时间;桥梁易于重新收回,收回后可继续架设。另外,新型桥的研制,还使用国际通用原则,即在某一国家研制的新型架桥设备,可在西方国家(如美、英、西德,以色列等)通用。新型桥,将对桥梁跨度和承载力进行折衷考虑并降低桥梁部件的重量。 At present, the U.S. military is vigorously developing combat engineering and bridging equipment.
