1979年4月2日至6日在巴黎联合国教科文组织总部举行了国际地震预报讨论会,这是以地震预报为主题的首次世界性大型会议(关于会议概况详见本刊1979年第8期的有关报道)。会议组织委员会评选了16个国家的82篇论文,其中77篇在大会宣读讨论,分为7个专题。在此之前联合国教科文组织总部于1979年1月31日编印了《提交的论文文摘》专辑,其中属自然科学的三个专题的48篇论文文摘,已选译出27篇刊登在本刊1979年第9期,现再将属社会科学的四个专题(四～七)的33篇论文文摘译载如下(按原文编排顺序):
The International Symposium on Earthquake Prediction was held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from April 2 to April 6, 1979. This is the first large-scale international conference on the theme of earthquake prediction (for an overview of the conference, see Issue 8, 1979 The relevant report). The conference organizing committee selected 82 papers from 16 countries, of which 77 were read and discussed in the conference and divided into seven topics. Prior to this, on January 31, 1979, UNESCO Headquarters published the “Abstracts Abstracted” album, of which 48 essays abstracted from three topics of the natural sciences, and 27 papers published in this issue No. 9, 1979, 33 essay excerpts of the four social sciences (four to seven) are now reproduced as follows (in chronological order):
